John Kioli
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER – GREEN AFRICA FOUNDATION
John is the Executive Director of the Green Africa Foundation and the Chairperson of the Kenya Climate Change Working Group. He has conducted successful Research on the impacts of Climate Change on key thematic areas that informed the Kenya Climate Change Act and facilitated several extensive grassroots sensitization and consultation meetings on Climate Change and the Climate Change Bill. Mr. John Kioli was appointed by the President of Kenya as a Member of the National Climate Change Council. He was part of The Glasgow Climate Pact, an agreement reached in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in 2021. The agreement is the first to specifically plan to minimize unabated coal use. He has a background in Masters of Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainability) from Kenyatta University. Through his exceptional Leadership, personal initiative and total dedication to Environmental Conservation and Climate Change issues, throughout his environmental conservation efforts he has achieved much adding value to many lives at grass root levels and to the country’s development agenda through issues that address Sustainable Development Goals towards the realization of vision 2030 and Sustainable Energy for All.

Chris Mbori
FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER EENOVATORS LTD
Chris is a passionate energy professional with over 10 years of experience in energy management and renewable energy. He is the founder and owner of Eenovators Limited, an Energy Service Company (ESCO) with operations in Kenya and Uganda. Chris has been involved in hundreds of energy audits, energy projects and energy management training. He was awarded the young sub-Saharan professional in 2015 by the AEE and a top 40 under 40 men in Kenya for the year 2018. Chris is an international accredited Certified Energy Trainer by the Association of Energy Engineers. He also sits on the board of the Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA), a non-profit company called to service by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) to service the Sub-Saharan Africa region for AEE.

Dr. Amit Roy
FOUNDER & CEO, ENGAS GLOBAL LTD
Dr Amit Roy is a hydrogen energy specialist across the entire value chains of hydrogen energy systems. At Engas Global Ltd He has been responsible for innovation, product development, business growth related hydrogen production from water using renewable electricity for various applications from clean cooking to refuelling of bus, van, trucks and hydrogen boats. Previously he started at AFC Energy Plc from its inception (2006-2009) developing fuel cells as the Chief Scientist and Head of Fuel Cells, which has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2007. He was the founder/ CEO of RE Hydrogen in 2009 – 2017 working on hydrogen systems delivering many successful research and development programmes. He is the founder and CEO of Engas UK Ltd working on biomethane upgrading, vehicle refuelling & CO2 capturing. Amit is also a Senior Lecturer at the School of Energy and the Course Leader of BEng/MEng programmes at the University of Portsmouth, UK. Amit was a Member of the UK’s Green Hydrogen Standards Committee appointed by the DECC-UK Gov, and the member of OMIL for gas metering and safety appointed by the BEIS- UK Govt.
Amit holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MBA, M-Tech (Energy) & B-Tech in Civil Engineering. He has background in electrochemistry, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, gas compression & energy storage. He demonstrated 9.5MWh wind-solar H2 project and a H2 refuelling station in Loughborough-UK. He demonstrated solar hydrogen projects. He also demonstrated own biogas upgrading technology to make bio-CNG fuel for vehicles refuelling and cooking.

Norah Magero
CO-FOUNDER & CEO DROP ACCESS
Norah Magero, co-founder and chief executive of sustainable solutions company Drop Access, a non-profit that has redefined energy access in rural by championing for productive use of energy through innovation and financing. Drop Access designed the solar-powered VacciBox to chill vaccines and enable them to get to areas Kenya’s national grid has not yet reached. She is a Mechanical Engineer by training and Renewable Energy Expert with experience in the design and management of off-grid energy utilities. Norah is passionate about getting more women into the STEM space and does so through mentorship. She is the co-founder of the Cool Green Campaign, an initiative to mentor high school students on renewable energy. She is a Booking.Com Technology Playmaker Award 2020 finalist and Women in Energy East Africa Community, Philanthropy Award winner 2017. She is also an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative, YALI and the Micro-Grid Academy. Norah recently made history by becoming the first Kenyan to win the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation.

Andrew Amadi
CEO, KENYA RENEWABLE ENERGY ASSOCIATION (KEREA)
Andrew Amadi is a chemical engineer by training and has worked in the energy sector for over 24 years. In this period he has been able to engage with all types of renewable energy as well as having worked in the petroleum sector.
Since 2007 he has been on the front line in the response to climate change. His personal and professional commitment is aligned to achieving resilience and prosperity in the face of climate change. The way he has gone about this is by dedicating himself towards finding renewable and energy efficiency solutions in Africa and beyond.
He has achieved this by working exclusively in environment, renewable energy and energy efficiency-related sectors since 2007 including carrying out of energy audits, and being able to set up an Energy Service Company (ESCOs), take part of the development and implementation of energy efficiency projects. He was instrumental in setting up the Association of Energy Professionals Eastern Africa and has actively participated in the development of sustainable energy policy for public and private sector organizations.
He was part of the team that developed guidelines and policy recommendations for integrating energy efficiency in all Africa Union and European Union Energy Partnership.
He has also worked in the water sector and strongly believes that there is an urgency to develop solutions that will make potable water available, reliable and of good quality, especially as the population grows in Africa and the impact of climate change takes effect that will affect the energy, water and food nexus.
As the CEO of the Kenya Renewable Energy Association, he is committed professionally to developing and promoting the use of renewable energy in order to be able to achieve universal access and a growth projection for Africa that is driven entirely by renewable energy.

Dr. Anna Mwangi
SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST, KENGEN
Currently serving as Senior Geophysicist at KenGen, Dr. Anna Mwangi is a geoscientist with vast experience in geothermal energy exploration and environmental management of geothermal fields. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Master of Science in Applied Geophysics from the University of Nairobi and a Doctor of Philosophy in Geological sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso.
She has worked in geothermal exploration projects within continental rifts e.g. in Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan i.e. in the East African rift and also within the Rio Grande rift in the USA. Dr. Anna is a member of the Geothermal Association of Kenya, Geological Society of Kenya, Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Geological Society of America. Her passion spans around adoption of clean, renewable energy sources for domestic use, agriculture and urban transport and also in exploration and reservoir management of geothermal energy systems. She is focused on sustainable exploitation of natural resources to contribute to reduce the negative impacts of climate change on our planet.

Fredrick Amariati
ENERGY ECONOMIST, GIZ
Fredrick Amariati is a Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor working with GIZ Kenya to implement a GCF funded cooking project: Promotional climate friendly cooking in Kenya. Previously, he has implemented Results Based Financing project for solar and cooking sub-sectors in Kenya besides a host other market assessment assignments in the off grid sector. Fredrick has a keen interest on issues related to tracking progress made from existing climate mitigation efforts. Specifically, he has interests in capacity building for relevant players towards proactive climate change reporting towards achieving Climate Goals.
Fredrick holds a Master of Science degree in Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree in Operations Management from the University of Nairobi in Kenya, a Technical Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Kenya and varied certifications in Universal Energy Access from Florence School of Regulation.

Catherine Njuguna
Communication Specialist Power for All
Catherine is a creative and dynamic Communication Specialist with over 18 years of extensive and progressive experience in all aspects of communications with various regional and international organizations in Africa. These range from Strategic Communications, media relations – working with both national and international journalists – and the use of social and traditional media. I have extensive experience in areas such as science communication, policy and advocacy, and planning and execution of high-level events including international conferences and capacity building. She has a solid grasp of traditional and modern communications processes and the ability to manage and develop projects to increase innovation in organizational cultures. Catherine is currently the Head of Communication Power for All Kenya.

Carolyne Gathuru
Chairperson, World Energy Day Foundation
Carolyne, is a Strategy & Customer Experience Consultant, Corporate Trainer, and Speaker, with over 20 years of experience as a Brand Strategy, Communications, Marketing, Event Management and Customer Experience Practitioner, I help organizations deliver on their brand promises to customers.

Eng. Jabes O. Manyala
AEE Certified Trainer,
B. Sc (Hons) Electrical Engineering, CEM®, CMVP®
Eng. Jabes O. Manyala, obtained a BSc Hons in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Kenya in 1978.
He is a registered Professional Engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK). He is also licensed as a Class A Energy Auditor and Class A-1 Electrician by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority of Kenya (EPRA).
He has established himself as an Energy expert having amassed experience from Kenya Pipeline Company ltd where he rose through the ranks from an Engineer (Tele-control and instrumentation) in 1992 to Chief Manager, Technical in 2009.
He is currently a practicing Consultant in Energy Management, Project Management, Energy Auditing, Pipeline Engineering, and Operations & Maintenance. He also works as an Energy Auditor at Eenovators Ltd, where is credited with performing more than 30 Investment Grade Energy audits over the past 7 years. He is an AEE Approved CMVP Trainer.
Engineer Manyala is widely travelled within and outside the African continent on both training and professional assignments. He has trained in various engineering courses in Germany, France, Canada, Dubai, Swaziland and the United Kingdom. His professional engagements have taken him to China, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Liberia, Cameroun, Ghana, Senegal, Malawi and Zambia.

Bill Kent
Executive Director,
Association of Energy Engineers
Bill has served as Executive Director of AEE since November 2017, succeeding Al Thumann, Founder of AEE, who served as AEE’s Executive Director for 40 years. Bill has been involved in the energy management industry for over 30 years and brings expertise in energy efficiency, instrumentation, automation, building systems, and executive leadership. In his 10 years at AEE, he has led many key initiatives and has been managing the day to day operations of the organization in his role as Managing Director.
He is responsible for managing and developing programs for membership, certification, publications, and conferences. He has worked with many local, state and federal agencies to develop workforce training programs and led the initiative to gain ANSI 17024 Accreditation and U.S. DOE Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines recognition of the AEE certifications.
Bill attended the University of Georgia and is a Certified Energy Manager® (CEM®), a member of the Commercial Workforce Credentialing Council Board of Advisors, a member of the Certification and Licensure Advisory Group for Credential Engine and was previously Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Varec, a Leidos company
